Combatives Brazil · São Paulo
Personal protection begins before the first strike.
Violence rarely starts when people expect it. It can begin with an unknown person closing distance, a vehicle stopping beside you, a confrontation in a parking area, an attempted robbery, domestic violence, an attack in a confined space or a threat involving someone you are responsible for.
Combatives Brazil trains for that environment.
The objective is not to win a fight. The objective is to recognize the problem earlier, make a decision under pressure, protect yourself and others, break contact and survive the incident.
The Reality
Crime indicators change from year to year. Exposure does not disappear. Large urban environments continue to produce thousands of situations involving robbery, violence, coercion, disappearance and personal risk.
São Paulo City · 2025 98,358
Even at the lowest annual level in the historical series, the city recorded almost one hundred thousand robberies.

Avoid what you can. Control what you cannot avoid. Fight only when you have to.
Personal Protection
Real incidents develop fast. There may be no warning, no referee and no controlled distance.
Combatives therefore starts with information and positioning, not with fighting.
01
Identify abnormal behavior, unwanted attention, environmental changes and developing threats.
02
Protect reaction time and prevent an unknown contact from controlling the encounter.
03
Use movement, barriers, exits and the environment before physical contact becomes unavoidable.
04
Leaving the incident safely is a successful outcome. There is nothing to prove.
05
When escape is not immediately possible, protect yourself and the people under your responsibility.
06
Physical action is used when necessary to create an opportunity to disengage and reach safety.
Operational Environment
Clothing, vehicles, walls, crowds, bags, children, uneven ground, limited movement and surprise change everything.
Training must account for the environment in which real incidents actually occur.
01
Unknown contacts, robbery, intimidation, surveillance and sudden confrontation.
02
Restricted movement, entry and exit, parking areas, traffic stops and family passengers.
03
Intrusion, domestic threats, confined areas and protection of other people.
04
Decisions change when children, seniors or other dependents are present.
05
Prevention, evacuation, emergency decisions and coordinated response to critical incidents.
06
Public transport, events, commercial areas and locations where movement can become restricted.
Training Method
A technique performed under ideal conditions does not prove that it will work when the situation changes.
Training introduces uncertainty, restricted movement, environmental obstacles, decision-making, verbal interaction, protection of third parties and controlled resistance.
The objective is not choreography.
The objective is to understand what remains functional when the situation becomes difficult.
Real Incidents
Real incidents provide information that training rooms cannot invent.
Combatives studies documented cases to understand how violence developed, what warning signs existed, where options disappeared and what decisions affected the outcome.
Who We Train
Personal protection cannot be identical for everyone.
Age, strength, mobility, environment, occupation and responsibility for other people change the problem.
Training is adapted to the person instead of forcing the person to adapt to a fixed system.
Combatives Brazil
Violence is unpredictable. Preparation does not remove risk. It gives you more information, more options and a better chance to act before those options disappear.
