COMBATIVES TRAINING
TRAIN FOR CONDITIONS.
NOT ROUTINES.
Technique matters.
Adaptation matters more.
Combatives training develops movement, distance, position, contact and decision-making under changing conditions. The objective is not to collect techniques or repeat fixed sequences. It is to understand principles that remain functional when the problem changes.
TRAINING PRINCIPLE
MOVE.
POSITION.
RESPOND.
ADAPT.
Training builds capability before complexity. Fundamentals are tested through contact, movement, pressure and changing information.
TRAINING STRUCTURE
FUNDAMENTALS FIRST.
PRESSURE FOLLOWS.
01
FOUNDATIONS
Movement. Balance. Distance. Position. Protection. The basic mechanics required to remain functional when space, direction and pressure change.
02
CONTACT
Striking. Clinch. Grappling. Control. Ground. Training develops the ability to operate across different ranges without depending on a single fighting system.
03
ENVIRONMENT
Walls. Vehicles. Confined spaces. Hard surfaces. Position and movement must change when the environment restricts normal options.
04
PRESSURE
Stress. Fatigue. Reduced time. Uncertainty. Training progressively removes comfort and increases the need to make clear decisions.
TRAINING CONDITIONS
CONDITIONS CHANGE.
PRINCIPLES REMAIN.
Real-world training changes variables. Distance, space, visibility, resistance and available time are not kept constant.
DECISION-MAKING
ACTION WITHOUT
DECISION IS NOT ENOUGH.
Physical skill is only useful when the situation is understood. Training develops the ability to recognize the problem, select an objective and change the response when conditions change.

SCENARIO TRAINING
THE PROBLEM
DOES NOT STAY STILL.
Fixed drills build specific skills. Scenario training tests whether those skills survive when the situation becomes less predictable.
Distance changes. Space closes. Resistance increases. Movement is restricted. Information is incomplete.
The response must adapt.
