KEYNOTES, WORKSHOPS AND CORPORATE EVENTS ON PROTECTION, PREVENTION AND BEHAVIOR

COMBATIVES™ · TALKS · WORKSHOPS · EVENTS · TRAINING

Protection, behavior and decision-making for real-world situations.

Programs for companies, teams, executives, families, children, adolescents, women, older adults, schools and institutions.

COMBATIVES™ works with violence, behavior, awareness, prevention, protection and decision-making.

The objective is to help people and organizations understand context more clearly, reduce vulnerabilities, recognize when a situation is changing and expand their options before deciding how to respond.

Depending on the audience, a program may include a talk, discussion, decision-making exercises, situational activities and physical practice.

UNDERSTAND VIOLENCE. PREPARE TO RESPOND.

PRINCIPLE

Protection begins before confrontation.

Recognizing what is happening, leaving, waiting, seeking help, protecting another person or simply choosing not to turn a problem into a confrontation are also forms of response.

AUDIENCES

Different people face different problems.

Age, physical capability, environment, routine, personal relationships, responsibility for others and access to help all change the options available for protection.

02

WORKSHOPS

Recognize. Think. Decide.

COMBATIVES™ workshops bring situations and decisions into the training.

In some exercises, the decision may be to leave. In others, to wait, speak, create distance, seek help, protect someone or respond physically.

The objective is to work with options, not to teach that every problem ends in confrontation.

  • Situational awareness
  • Behavior & context
  • Human factors
  • Environment
  • Identifying vulnerabilities
  • Protection of others
  • Communication under pressure
  • Positioning
  • Distance
  • Decision to leave or wait
  • Seeking help
  • Decision-making
  • Identifying exits
  • Use of barriers
  • Family protocols
  • Response when necessary

APPLIED TRAINING

Physical response is one of the possibilities.

Training also means recognizing what is happening and choosing a response that fits the problem.

In some situations, leaving solves the problem. In others, waiting, seeking help, protecting someone, changing position or choosing not to react at that moment may reduce risk.

When physical contact occurs and action becomes necessary, movement, distance, balance, resistance, environment and adaptation become part of the problem.

Exercises, intensity and physical components are adapted to the age, physical condition, experience and purpose of the group.

AWARENESS · PREVENTION · PROTECTION · DECISION · RESPONSE

EXERCISES & SCENARIOS

An exercise should allow different decisions.

Some programs may include situational exercises and controlled scenarios.

A scenario can begin long before physical contact. An approach, an argument, someone following another person, unusual behavior or a change in the environment may already require a decision.

The objective is to examine what the person recognized, which options were available and why a particular response was chosen.

  • Approach and invasion of personal space
  • Decision not to enter a confrontation
  • Distraction while moving through an environment
  • Creating distance
  • Entering and exiting vehicles
  • Protecting children and companions
  • Protecting people with reduced mobility
  • Moving through public environments
  • Identifying exit routes
  • Using barriers
  • Communication during conflict
  • Seeking help
  • Decision to wait
  • Leaving a situation
  • Controlled physical response
  • Reviewing the decision made
